PwC are currently hiring a Assurance Senior Associate and Confirmations Administrator- Waterford.
About the role, as a Senior Associate your responsibilities will include:
- Leading an audit team and setting the audit approach to the engagement, which makes effective use of team members’ skills and is within budget.
- Liaising onsite with clients to obtain relevant information in order to resolve any queries and to identify causes/risks on issues requiring further consideration.
- Identifying the key business and audit risks of a client and investigate all audit issues to arrive at a solution or proposal
- Researching and resolving technical queries from clients
- Work closely with the tax department to ensure that the taxation figures for the audit are finalised within the required time.
- Ensure Manager/Senior Managers (or relevant Partner) are informed on a regular basis on the progress of the audit and relevant issues in respect of budget constraints.
- Reporting on audit findings to the Managers/Senior Managers and Partners and in particular raise any issues arising during the audit which may impact on risk.
- Preparing reports detailing issues found and recommending corrective and preventative actions to resolve them
- Review the work of junior team members to ensure quality, thoroughness and completion of assignment tasks within agreed time frames.
- Work as an effective team member during an audit by communicating relevant issues, requesting feedback and coaching junior team members.
- Designing appropriate procedures and audit programmes
Responsibilities:
- Liaising with audit teams to prepare bank, investment and solicitors’ confirmation letters using an online platform.
- Follow up and distribution of responses from banks and solicitors to audit teams.
- Performance of address verification and callback procedures.
- Inputting trial balance data into an accounting package for statutory accounts.
- Liaising with a shared service centre in processing changes to statutory accounts.
- Liaising with audit teams in obtaining items for disclosure in statutory accounts.
- Reviewing statutory accounts after processing completed by a shared service centre.
- Other administrative duties including drafting of letters of engagement and authorisation for services

- Strong attention to detail

- Strong IT skills and a willingness to adapt to new technologies
- Knowledge of accounts software advantageous but not essential
